Two Van’s = One Cozy Home
The idea was to do a simple build out so we could go camping and maybe travel for a year. Anthony’s career in mechanics and body building (the muscle car kind) made it only natural to buy a used van and build it out. The first van we got was around a thousand bucks. It didn’t even run. But Anthony was confident in his ability to get her going, and he did. I’ll let you watch the videos to find out where and why van #2 came into the picture. Halfway through our build life changed drastically for us. I’ll share that story on our blog someday. But it became apparent that this van was going to be our home indefinitely. So the build switched from meeting minimal weekend warrior needs to being a super safe space that had everything we needed and wanted in a home. By the time we roll out our last build video you will see that Anthony accomplished all that and more. We are so happy with our cozy cabin on wheels! This has been a needed shift in our lives and we are so very grateful for how it all worked out. Enjoy the videos! We’re happy to share them with you.
Van Build Episode 1
Building out a van is hard enough. What if you start with two vans that aren't running? That's what can happen when you find a van sitting in the yard of your local tow shop. You decide to take a leap of faith, bring it to the garage and get the engine running! The only problem is the insane amount of rust and she's a bit short... Watch to see the incredible start to our vanlife dreams!
Van Build Episode 2
Episode 2 begins with her rolling into the paint booth. Actually, she had to have her shoes taken off and pushed in with a loader because the paint booth was so low. While the paint dried, Anthony began the process of taking everything out of van 1 (low top) to clean, sort, repair and then place into van 2.
